Composed by Miriam Khayat
When these eyes are filled,
vision gone
it is Your body-less silhouette
that guides me home
a thin line between here and there
a narrowing road to truth and real
never asking why I've strayed
nor why my faith destroyed
accepting me whole
with love and guidance
a protection from beyond
unexplainable is Your forgiveness
limitless is Your protection
unleashing the chains wrapping this soul
and cleansing the blackness of this heart
if You could just embrace
I would call for Your warmth
but You are unconfined,
unimaginable,
indescribable
As when this chest ruptures
And my weak heart pounds
As it speaks and beats to Your names
99 times
each telling a story of Your mercy
Your kindness
Your blessings
Whispering that You are not just there
But You are here
and with that beating
my tears begin to flow
like beats of summer jazz
too smooth for winters time
crying with me the tears of yet 1,000 souls
all knowing Your love too well
yearning for its return
Each attached to Your being
like a cool scented breeze
engulfing me with fascination
no longer sure if I am calling You
or if You have called upon me
Mercy do You shed
Keep me Your servant
One whose blessings
This heart cannot deny
