Promised Re-Union

Composed by Sahar Hussain

Emotions are barred,
sentiments neglected;
here the whispers are scattered ...
Oh traveller in the darkness of night,
search beyond the loci of Baqi,
to perceive the unexpressed love.
It is within this deserted locale,
the aura, padded with inaudible cries.
Trace your path Oh lover,
through the virtue of empathy;
reflect all your gestures,
on the mirror of your heart.
Wrap your arm around the iron-grills,
distancing you from the un-bloomed flowers of Muhammad;
those lying under the scorching blaze of Medina,
with soltitude, being their lone visitor.
It is here, where the soil is perfumed with Zahra's tears;
this mud and clay is the replica of Kerbala.
See Oh lover,
with the perception of your intrinsic eye,
the helplessness and cries of Al-Batoul.
How she clings on to her Ali,
as they drag him out of his house.
I ask, the illuminated green dome of the Rasul'Allah's shrine;
" Where on this land, and on which holy site,
is Reyhanat Al-Mustafa burried? "
No reply.
" To whom may I disclose the notes of this eulogy?
Where on this pure land,
can I find the foot-marks of Al-Mahdi? "
Treasuring my tears in my heart's little cache,
as I leave the dispersed lyrics of love,
in my bosom,
promising to read it to my Mistress,
on re-union, by the lake of Kawthar .... (insha'Allah)
